  • Title IX and Pregnancy Discrimination in Higher Education: The New Frontier

    This presentation is based on a new paper, co-authored with Jaclyn Younger, published in the N.Y.U. Review of Law & Social Change. That paper, Title IX and Pregnancy Discrimination in Higher Education: The New Frontier, addresses new efforts by the U.S. Department of Education to seek Title IX compliance to prevent pregnancy discrimination in educational institutions. It also discusses recent efforts of the Department’s Office for Civil Rights to investigate and settle pregnancy discrimination claims as well as the lessons learned in private action lawsuits.
